Kendra Burrows

" transformed by the renewing of your mind..." (Romans 12:2)

Hi, I’m Kendra!

As a gardener, I know you can’t have a gorgeous garden without spending time planting bulbs, pulling weeds, and cutting back perennials.  Here in the Pacific Northwest, those activities generally happen in the rain.  (Because for 9 months of the year, almost everything happens in the rain!)

As a wife, mother, and friend, I know that you can’t have blossoming relationships without also spending some time “tending the garden.”

The nights playing board games huddled at the dining room table instead of everyone rushing off to his own corner with an electronic device don’t happen if the relationships haven’t been nurtured regularly in smaller ways.

The potlucks where friends feel completely at ease don’t happen a few times a year without some garden tending in between.

In all of our relationships, there is a need to “tend the garden” – to be there in the little moments, to plant, to weed, to get down in the mud and get dirty.

As a Christian, I know that none of this is possible without our Heavenly Father’s grace and without growing through His Word.

This blog is my attempt to more mindfully recognize God’s grace in my life every day, and to encourage others (and truthfully, myself!) to continue to tend those beautiful gardens in my life – with my husband, my children, my friends, my co-workers, and even with strangers.
